That arguement doesnt hold any weight. Bradford threw for no less than 395 yards against the #11 and #12 teams in the nation which do not play in the Big 12. Bradford didnt have a bad game all season and thats largely why he won it.
doesn't matter where they are / were ranked. you can be ranked #1 but not have a defense and out point everyone. Tebow played against 6 of the nations top 30 defenses and Bradford played 2 of the top 30.
like i said in this post earlier, you can't go wrong with any of the 3 that were up for the award. that being said Tebow got his stats against better defences that the other 2.
but his stats were nowhere near bradford's stats

So what teams were the #'s 12 and 11?
Take a look at these pages and compare total defensive stats and you'll see that the SEC totally outclasses the Big 12 as far as defense is concerned.

Now, the big ballyhoo about Oklahoma was that they put up 60+ points in 5 straight games. However, look at those 5 teams and their average points per game that their defenses gave up:
Nebraska: 29.2
Texas A&M: 37.4
Texas Tech: 26.3
Ok. State: 26.9
Missouri: 27.5
Now, any team that comes in with a respectable offense against these defenses is bound to put up big numbers. Sam Bradford...good qb? Yes. As compared to Tebo who plays in a better defensive conference? No question what Tebo accomplished this year stands head and shoulders above Bradford to me.
TCU and Cincy are #11 and #12. I made my point. We arent talking about Tebow, we are talking about Bradford.
Anyway,Im really surprised that we are giving so much credit to Tebow because he played in the SEC when the SEC has been the worst it has been in years. Most people on this board have said all year long that the Big 12 is the best conference and even the ACC may be better than the SEC with the exception of the top 2 teams. You cant have it both ways, its not like Tebow went against Alabama every week. Its the same people that knock the ACC for not having any offense that knock the big 12 for not having any defense yet somehow the ACC has put enough offense together to beat the SEC teams consistently this year.

Those stats can be extremely skewed. Its like the stats where everyone in the ACC has a dominant defense and no offense, yet when you look at the reality, most ACC teams dont really have good offenses at all and in the same breath, those teams have given up quite a few points against non-acc teams.
Its no coincidence that defenses look good in the SEC. Have you not noticed the amount of coaches fired largely in part due to a lack of offense?
One could criticize the B12 for being the no defense league but the same one could criticize the SEC for being the no offense/close to the ACC in offense league.
The SEC was down this year, mainly one in department: QB play. The conference was still better than the other major conferences, with the Big 12 being the biggest rival although no one in that conference knows the object of how to play D it doesn't seem like.
No, there is no argument. Bottom line is Big 12 plays no defense. SEC does.
